The brief mailing list

If you subscribe to The Cayman Business Brief we store your email address, the time you asked, the page you asked from and the IP address the request came from. The IP and timestamp are the record of your consent — they exist so that we can show why we hold your address, and they are used for nothing else.

Nothing is sent until you click the link in the confirmation email. Every brief carries a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. We do not sell, rent or share the list, and we do not use it for advertising.

What we hold

For a submitted release: the organisation, the release itself, and the media contact’s name, email and phone number. The media contact block is published on the release — that is its purpose, and it is the only personal data we put on a public page.

For an account: name, email address and a hashed password. We never store passwords in a readable form.

What we do with it

We use contact details to tell you what happened to your release and nothing else. We do not sell data, and we do not send marketing to addresses collected through submissions.

The wire

Aggregated headlines link to their publisher. We set no third-party tracking cookies on this site.

Removal

Ask and we will remove a media contact’s details from a published release, or withdraw the release entirely. Write to press@caymanfreepress.com.
