Editorial guidelines
Every release is read by a person before it publishes. These are the rules we read against — they exist to keep this wire worth citing.
What we publish
Announcements of fact from Cayman Islands organisations: openings, appointments, results, contracts, launches, licences, partnerships, expansions, community programmes, closures. If a journalist could reasonably write a paragraph from it, we will run it.
What we turn down
- Copy that reads as advertising rather than news — offers, discounts, price lists.
- Releases with no verifiable organisation behind them.
- Announcements about organisations with no Cayman Islands presence.
- Claims about named third parties we cannot check.
- Anything submitted purely to place links.
Most releases we turn down are published on a second pass. We always say why.
Links
Every outbound link in a release is published with rel="nofollow sponsored". This is not negotiable and there is no paid exception: search engines require it of press release distribution, and a wire that sold followed links would be devalued as a whole — taking every honest company’s releases down with it. Link to whatever you like; it simply will not pass ranking signals.
Authorship and accuracy
CaymanFreePress publishes releases as received. We do not write them, we do not verify the claims inside them, and we do not endorse them — every release says so on its own page. Accuracy is the submitting organisation’s responsibility, and filing confirms you are authorised to speak for it.
We correct factual errors on request from the organisation named. Releases withdrawn after publication keep their address so existing citations still resolve, marked as withdrawn.

Headlines under The Wire are other publications’ work. We hold headline, link and date only, never article text, and every link goes to the original. If you are a publisher and would rather not appear, tell us and we will remove you the same day.
